CAREY WICKERSHAM [Chief Prayer Officer]

Carey believes in the power of prayer. Prayer not only changes circumstances, it changes people...especially the person who is praying. Carey has a life-time of answered prayers, and some she is still waiting for God to answer. "Prayer is probably the single greatest privilege of a Christ-follower. The promise that a believer can commune with the Creator of the Universe on a moment's notice about anything is astounding! I am incredibly humbled and honored to pray for the ministry, board and founders of set apart. We have already seen God answer in ways we can't deny." Carey is a wife, mother, a long-time television news journalist, and a water fitness instructor. She loves to hear and tell good stories. Carey has worked in television markets around the country and is the author of The Wonder Within You, Celebrating Your Baby's Journey from Conception to Birth.

TONY NJERU [Finance]

Tony has a heart for helping the less fortunate in society by showing them God’s love through His gift of empathy, and equipping them with material and spiritual resources to help them get ahead in life. From his upbringing in the suburbs of Kenya’s largest city, he learned the value of hard work from his parents, who were among the first to attend college in their families, while at the same time appreciating the disparate living standards people in his city experienced regardless of how hard they worked. Tony earned a partial scholarship to come to the USA to study Actuarial Science at the University of Central Missouri, where he stayed on to earn an MBA in Finance on a full scholarship thereafter. Although he has since worked in the banking industry for six years, he is pursuing further education in development economics with a goal of transitioning to a career aligned with his calling to help eradicate poverty in the developing world. In his spare time, he enjoys movie nights with his wife, Jade, (or alone if necessary) and game nights with friends.

CHRIS GRAHAM [Non-Profit Tax + International Ministry]

Chris became a follower of Christ in 1982, and ever since his heart has been to serve and not be served. He is a retired CPA whose motivating desire is to see people come to know, love, and obey Jesus Christ, which originates from his life verse: For I have determined to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ, and Him crucified, 1 Corinthians 2:2. Throughout his professional career, Chris helped countless individuals, small businesses, churches, and other non-profit organizations with their accounting and income tax needs. In retirement, he spends his time helping further the missions of non-profit organizations, including serving on multiple boards. He is also regularly involved with Bible studies and an inner healing and deliverance prayer ministry. Chris was born in the Philippines, but has lived in the Kansas City area most of his life. His first wife passed away from cancer in 2006. He married Janet in 2008, and at that time a powerful word was spoken over them: you will be used as a bridge between the east and the west. This word is always on their minds as they seek the Lord in ministry opportunities. They have traveled to Jordan and Israel several times and have also served on short-term missions to Guatemala and Greece.

BRENT MORRIS [Executive Director + Founder]

Brent believes this biblical truth: people are set apart, not because of who they are, but because they were made by the hands of God. Jeremiah 1:5 says, "Before God formed us in the womb, He knew us..." God is an artist, and we are all the art of God. Brent has spent a lifetime discovering what that means and is passionate about sharing what God has taught him: we were made for a holy purpose. Believe it. Be living it! After graduating with a B.A. in Art from William Jewell College, Brent was blessed to have a two-year apprenticeship with renowned artist Mark English, followed by a 13-year career at Hallmark Cards where he held a wide range of creative, innovative and product development roles. His last four years were spent in leadership and liaison roles, helping to launch a new subsidiary and then working with other subsidiaries to leverage Hallmark’s creative resources and innovation. In September of 2010, Brent resigned from Hallmark to pursue the call to full-time ministry when God placed this charge in his heart: “Stop focusing on product and start focusing on people. Help them do what I created them to do!” In response, Brent founded set apart. He is tremendously blessed to work alongside his wife and two children as they actively discover each day what God has set them apart to do...and to help others do the same.

KRISTIN MORRIS [Managing Director + Founder]

Kristin uses her creativity to point people to Jesus and propel them into their purpose. This is her personal and professional mission, which God has been growing in her for as long as she can remember. As a child, Kristin spent much of her spare time making handmade gifts for friends and family, and is still doing that today. She has a passion for creativity in many forms and is forever exploring new techniques, media and materials. Her tools usually include the computer, the pen, and the camera. She first took her creativity to market while in college by starting a photography business. Since graduating with a B.S. in Secondary Education in Spanish from Kansas State University in 1996, Kristin has served in international ministry and worked in both for-profit and non-profit business sectors in the areas of communications, project management, social media marketing and graphic design. Kristin co-founded set apart with her husband, Brent. She deeply treasures the journey with him and their two beautiful children as they live out their missions together for the Lord.
