Joplin Family Worship Center
5290 East 7th Street in Joplin
NEW Date: November 12, 2011
Time: 1:00 - 4:00 pm
The Hope Memorial Participation Day event will be a time when the people of Kansas City will come and serve the people of Joplin to help address emotional and spiritual needs...helping them to see beauty amongst the devastation...helping them to experience the hope of a BIG God.
It will be a time of worship, encouragement and inspiration, Memorial participation and dedication, and prayer. We will encourage people to remember, but to look ahead...to grieve,
but to have hope.
Written Hopes and Prayers
Allow Joplin to forever see the prayers said on their behalf. Anyone is invited to become a permanent part of The Hope Memorial by contributing written hopes and prayers for Joplin through Facebook or email, which will be printed off and placed in special transparent compartments built into the Memorial. In doing so, these prayers will not only be preserved, but will also be visible, and will always be a permanent part of the Memorial. (Submissions from those not attending the event must be received by November 1 to be included in The Hope Memorial.)
At artwork’s completion, members of the Joplin community and all others are invited to the November 12, 2011 participation event where they can become contributing artists in one of two ways: 1.) by using paint to leave their fingerprint on the piece; and 2.) by contributing a written hope or prayer and placing it in a special transparent compartment built into the piece.
Worship and Prayer
In addition to the contributing artist segment, the participation event will also include a time of worship, encouragement and inspiration, participation, Memorial dedication, and prayer. People will be available to pray with participants about specific concerns and needs.
