Praying that the miracle of One penetrates your hearts in new ways this season.
Isaiah turned 6 in September and started Kindergarten this year at Kansas City Christian School! He is the life of the party wherever he goes.
His favorite thing to do is to make people laugh, and he is VERY good at it, too! He loves music and is a very gifted dancer (although he will only perform for us.) His favorite entertainer is Michael Jackson--
a boy after his mom's own heart :-) We have managed to catch a couple of his "performances" on video (see above) which have gotten rave reviews on Facebook! You can watch more on YouTube if you want!
He had his first official film shoot this year when he had a small part in a student commercial contest for Coca Cola. Although it didn't come to fruition, his funny little character really fit the part!
He loves to create and build... especially with legos! He especially loves it when he can be Dad's helper in the art studio. He is really artistic and has quite the imagination, which really comes to life in his dreams, his drawings, his paintings, and in all the embellished stories he tells us!
Izabella turned 8 in June, left her carseat in the dust, and never looked back.
She is in third grade this year at Kansas City Christian School and is a GREAT student! She loves to read and always has her nose in a book. She is all about trivia and is forever challenging us with questions to which Dad normally knows the answer and Mom rarely knows.
She played soccer again this year and has quite a competitive spirit. This winter she is playing basketball for the very first time. (And Mom is helping coach for the very first time and is loving it!)
She was in a student commercial contest this year for Tropicana. (Watch video above or here.) It didn't win, but it was fun to shoot and was very well done! She did an outstanding job!
She is very interested in everything electronic...the computer, the Wii, the phone, the camera. She is already begging us for an iPhone!
She is still known for giving big hugs and for all the love that she shows to those around her!
Kristin and Brent had an amazing and crazy year, relying heavily on faith for our daily bread! Looking back, we simply can't believe all that has transpired. It has been very hard work, but has also been worth every minute of effort and sacrifice.
We officially launched the creative arts ministry, set apart, at
a vision casting event on February 20...also our 11th wedding anniversary! Since that day, we have been indescribably busy trying to build it, and God has opened some amazing doors!
In March, Brent delivered his first commissioned painting ever! Then in April, he painted his first performance art piece, called He Saw You, at the Good Friday service at our church. In May, he released his online portfolio.
In June, we began The Hope Memorial for Joplin, a 7.5 ft. x 14.5 ft. piece of redeeming art built from debris and wreckage left by the May 22 tornado. We spent 6 months coordinating a team of 20 artists to create the Memorial in our very own backyard! We delivered it to the Joplin community at a unique worship event held in November. It was a very challenging, yet very rewarding ministry experience.
This fall, Kristin had a long-time dream come true by launching her own line of t-shirts she designed, called "That's what He said!" In October, she debuted them at a large craft show in Rogers, Arkansas. She is having the best time pursuing this dream!
In December, we were invited to Indiana to speak to a church there that supports set apart. We met the most wonderful and generous people. We also ate the best fried chicken ever ever--fresh off the farm!
We are truly enjoying life and ministry together as a family and have another full year of exciting projects and events planned for 2012, including the long-awaited publication of the illustrated journal, Journeys with the Saviour!
Thanking God this Christmas for the many gifts He has bestowed upon us this past year...especially you!
Merry Christmas with love,
Brent, Kristin, Izabella and Isaiah
