Creative Services :: The Gideons International
"You really did put us on a good trajectory, and I want to tell you how much I appreciate it."
~Ken Stephens, Director of Communications at The Gideons International
The simple mission of the Gideons is to distribute the Word of God. They are perhaps most widely known for the Bibles they place in hotel rooms. Since they started their mission over 100 years ago, they have distributed over 1.6 billion Bibles in more than 90 languages. These Bibles are either given directly to individuals or placed in selected public locations where large numbers of people, who may be searching for answers, will have the ability to encounter the Word of God.
In 2012, set apart established new creative and editorial strategies specific to the Gideons' card-driven donation program. Based on these strategies, set apart created six cards and two merchandising designs. These cards--not available for purchase, but offered free to donors--are a simple way for people to partner in ministry with the Gideons by first making a donation towards the printing and distribution of Bibles around the world, then sending a card to a loved one to acknowledge the donation made in their honor.
In 2013, set apart will be doing another round of card designs for The Gideons International.
Creative Workshops :: set apartist series
"I appreciate you collaborating with us and your ministry."
~Marilyn Thomas, Founder and Executive Director of House of Hope KC
In 2012, set apart launched a series of creative workshops with set apartist Alysia Quisenberry, which exposed teen girls to the art of oil painting. These sessions began with a time of devotion, followed by professional art instruction and hands-on creating. This program was piloted at the House of Hope KC where teen residents created original oil paintings as family Christmas gifts.
In 2013, set apart will continue workshops with the House of Hope KC and will also launch another series of classes with Freedom Fire Urban Ministries.
If you are an artist interested in teaching or an organization with a need for art instruction, email Kristin Morris for more information.

reSOULution :: Bring your story to Life.
Written by Paige DeRuyscher
"This is a Life study. It's an invitation to experience Life in a new way – to live with greater freedom, authenticity, passion and presence each day. We’re taking a journey together to discover who we are, how we got here, and why we do what we do. We’re allowing God to heal our deeply-rooted brokenness and we’re taking steps into the full, free life He is calling us to live.
This process will be organic, and will look different for every person.
It’s a journey for our whole selves – our hearts, our minds, and ultimately, our souls."
Pilot life studies will be kicking off in the first half of 2013.
A Prayer Room :: Mercy & Truth Medical Missions
"May all who look upon this image of the ascended and enthroned Christ exalted on high receive healing for their physical and spiritual sicknesses."
This prayer room will be a peaceful and reverent place at Mercy & Truth Medical Missions in Kansas City, KS where staff can pray for their patients, and families can pray for their children and for themselves. The room design will reflect a heavenly, monochromatic, blue color palette; a modern floor plan with traditional and contemporary elements.
A painting of Jesus on the throne, entitled, “Jesus is Lord,” will be the focal point
of the prayer room. Prior to being painted, scriptures and prayers (like the one featured above) are being written on the canvas of the art by people who support the mission of Mercy & Truth and those they serve.

True Freedom Memorial :: A Creative Tribute to Military Personnel
Just as over a million American men and women have given their lives for our earthly freedom, there is One who gave his life for our eternal freedom -- Jesus. The True Freedom Memorial will serve as a visible reminder of these costly sacrifices made on our behalf.
This large-scale 3D memorial will be a community-based piece of art that will feature the written prayers of veterans, those currently serving, as well as grateful civilians. The purpose of the art is to provide a visual reminder of the legacy our veterans have left us and to preserve the heroic markings of our service men and women for future generations.

Legacy of Trust in Christ :: A Horse and Athletic Ministry
Helping at-risk youth in Amarillo change the direction of their family tree.
“But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in Him. They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.” Jeremiah 17:7-8
Amarillo, Texas is an area of the United States with staggering statistics of teen pregnancy. Suicide is rampant. Trust, anger and abandonment issues are prevalent among the area's youth. A group of Christ-loving, horse-loving, sports-loving people have gathered together to do something about it.
Legacy of Trust in Christ uses horses and athletics as a platform to share the Gospel. They invite middle school and high school youth to come in and hear the Good News...and then go out and share it. They want to inspire a permanent lifestyle change for youth and their families...helping to create a new normal for them...changing the direction of their family tree.
set apart has been invited to come alongside this brand new ministry with a creative vision. Through brand work, visual identity, original artwork and innovative installations, we will be helping them do what God created them to do.
